Teramo, 1966

A visual artist who graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in L'Aquila, specializing in historic and artistic heritage. She lives and works between L'Aquila and Rome.

A student of Fabio Mauri, thanks to his influence she participated in the Grand Futurist Evening presented at the Goldoni Theatre in Venice in 1986, while from 1988 to 1991 she worked as an assistant to Piero Pizzi Cannella. Since 1992, she has been part of numerous exhibitions in both public and private spaces, including Galleria Mara Coccia in Rome, Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, A.A.M. Architecture Modern and Contemporary Art Gallery in Rome, the Museum Laboratory of Contemporary Art at the University "La Sapienza" in Rome, Castello Cinquecentesco in L'Aquila, Livio Nardi Gallery in Nuremberg, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome, the 10th Architecture Biennale in Venice, the Italian Consulate in Istanbul, the Benaki Museum in Athens, Vèra Amsellem Gallery in Paris.

In 2005, Licia Galizia initiated an artistic collaboration with composer Michelangelo Lupone and the Centro Ricerche Musicali (Musical Research Center) – CRM in Rome. Together, they created works conceived as interactive environments, places of multisensory experience that integrate plastic forms with music, offering visitors a participatory enjoyment. Exhibitions resulting from Galizia's collaboration with CRM include those at Goethe-Institut in Rome, the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, the Ara Pacis Museum in Rome, the Parco della Musica in Rome, the Palazzo dell’Emiciclo in L'Aquila, the Bilotti Museum in Rome, the MACRO in Rome, the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo, the Tomie Ohtake Institute for Contemporary Art in São Paulo, Brazil, and the Museum of Musical Instruments of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome's Parco della Musica, as well as the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi.

In 2018, she collaborated with composer Laura Bianchini on the creation of three adaptive permanent sculptural-musical works - Foce, Aquiloni and Terra e Cielo in the ancient village of Trevi nel Lazio region. This project, titled Via dei Canti (Street of Songs) is part of the Arte sui Cammini (Art of the Paths) initiative promoted by the Lazio Region for the promotion of spiritual paths in Lazio through art, and it was inaugurated on May 3, 2019. Her works are present in institutionals such as the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina Collection), embassies and consulates in Istanbul, Lima, Colombo, Hanoi, New Delhi, Montevideo, and New York.
